WHAT:

Over the course of more than 50 years of planning, organizing and participating in a wide range of fishing trips to dozens of different locations in five provinces, I've come to realize that there is a great deal to be said for returning to those few destinations where the overall quality of the fishing, the accommodations and the general atmosphere have provided the greatest, lasting memories.
Exploring new lodges and new bodies of water will always be intriguing, but, there is also the potential risk that some aspect of a new destination will fail to live up to expectations.
As I get older, and, as the cost of these trips continues to rise, it's really crucial as a retired guy on a fixed income to ensure that I'm receiving the best bang for my fishing trip bucks. This is why, for 2026, I've decided that I will be returning to one of two locations which I consider to be among the very best fishing trips my fishing colleagues and I have experienced. At one of these locations, located on massive Lake St. Joseph far north of Thunder Bay, Ontario, I've visited twice: once with my son, Tyler, and more recently in 2023 with a group of 6 buddies. At the other location, located in Northern Saskatchewan, I enjoyed some truly incredible fishing with my bro-in-law, Bruce, in 2024.
All of the photos displayed on this website were taken at these two lodges. While I won't rule out ever going anywhere else for my big fishing trip of the year, I would certainly be extremely satisfied if these two are the only lodges that I will visit going forward.
Over the past year, I've received serious inquiries from and/or have had serious conversations with various friends I've fished with over the years, and also, with a few people who are looking for their first remote, northern Canada fishing experience, about joining me on such a fishing trip in 2026. In total, there are well over a dozen people who have expressed serious interest in a 2026 fishing trip. It is for this group of people that I have created this website, people I've enjoyed fishing with and/or enjoyed spending quality leisure time with over the years. And, I'm looking forward to enjoying that very special experience again with as many of you as is possible.
Please take the time to review the two different trip options described on this site, feel free to visit the lodges' own websites, and, of course to reach out to me directly to ask questions and learn more about my experience at each location. Based upon the feedback I receive from those of you who respond, a decision will be made about which of the two lodges will be selected for the group's 2026 trip.
Hopefully, this decision will be made by Thanksgiving Weekend as these lodges tend to have a very high rate of repeat bookings from long-term guests. Then, it will be up to each of you to confirm your interest in joining me for the 2026 trip by submitting a deposit.
Please note that both lodges do have a capacity limitation. So, if you are interested, I strongly recommend that you reserve your space as soon as possible.
